Thanksgiving Break!

Yesterday was a nightmare, but thankfully I didn't leave today.

Skimming over that, I went out with my father - it's so nice to do so! We went bowling, but honestly I'm not sure how much longer he'll be able to keep it up. Lately, it has been causing him pain, from what I've overheard from his coversations... I'm sure he tries not to worry me, though.

I know he realizes how much I worry about my cat when I'm gone. Heh, he offered to pay for a visit to see what's even wrong with Ekon. So, going tomorrow - I'm planning to try and get much work out of the way, so that I can go ahead and save up money for future appointments, and arrangements to keep him with me next year, regardless where I end up after graduation (or if I bring him up before graduation, even...)

Sometimes they're a dud...

I ranted talked with a few of my classmates... they said I should drop it at this point, that commission I was working on. That it's not worth it. That if they no longer contacted me, that the commissioner didn't think I was worth it. He seemed nice, even if majorly scatterbrained... Admittedly, it's going to hang heavy on my shoulders that I'm not doing, but rah... I have to wonder at this point if they even have my contact information. x.x

Well, at least it'll free up my schedule, I guess.

Self Portrait?

I thought I'd leave this one here, haha. Just a quick sketch of my (idea?) self... Thinking I might use a cleaned up version as my postcard.

Painter...

While I'm thinking about it now, I wanted to quickly note down this tip that I learned from a tutorial video - Making a layer set to "Colorize" filled with black lets you check your values. Booyow.

This week...

Seems like the hardest. Closed door crit, 50 percent of environment painting, essay exam... then marking stuff, if not wanting to work on them during thanksgiving break next week.
I also have a few peices I need to do - ASAP, so that I can do commissions for extra cash. Bleh, so much on my plate, I just want to have fun now.

Late night work...

I'm working in the studio tonight. ~__~ Normally I don't ever do so - but this time I'm in the first section's room, since there's mostly people that I know. Lol, I dressed up as Aude. Yeah, that persona. Though.. technically contacts aren't the best idea when i'd be working at the computer, honestly.

GenTeal Lubricant Eye Gel for Severe Dry Eye Relief

I haven't mentioned in it in the past, but I'm an art student in my Senior Year... A primarily digital artist this year, too. All day in front of the computer screen, whether for academic or art-based classes, then when I get home I stare at the screen for gaming! It doesn't help that I like to wear contacts (though lately I've barely done so since I couldn't wear them if I've been working at the computer), but in the end I have ended up with really terribly dry eyes. I have tried some liquid drops for contacts and without, but they haven't worked too well, and I could barely get it into my eyes - somewhere I saw it mentioned to get a gel, and GenTeal gel drops were suggested...

It was kinda expensive at 8-9 dollars for... .12 fl oz, but it is wonderful so far! For one... I can actually get it into my eye without blinking it out. Something about being able to just set the drop in makes things loads easier for me in the end, and it melts into a liquid-like state to spread over. I'll keep using it for a few days, and try wearing contacts at some point.

If all goes well, I'll try out the night time version too, where you put it in before bed. For now, though...Gotta head over to the studio to scan in my stuff, and make some lineart so I can actually make color drops/alts. =_= Ugh. There's a whole slew of other work to do, but I've been trying really hard to hold back on being hard on myself as a student. My whole goal is that once I can handle this load as is, the sooner I can get a job to make some cash on the side.

...Haha, yes. I am 21 years old, and haven't had a job. That's what I get for being a head-in-the-books cat for most of my life, then suddenly transplanted from the south to the north, merely on a school basis. Geeze, anyway, gonna run off! I'll add some pictures later!

Hah, this is what constantly takes up my time lately. It's just a quick drafting of sillouette and poses for my turnaround. Thesis is zodiac game characters - I'm steadily developing their back stories as I work on them, too. Half of my project involves drawing turnarounds on tracing paper, the other eventually being at the computer and coloring them in. xD I'd like to cut back on the time i'm at the computer, until I can find some eye drops that help out with the dry eyes that I get as result. x.x being at the computer = dry eyes = unable to ever wear my contacts = not comfortable with dressing up. Lol!

I think my whole thing of only dressing up with contacts is that glasses make me lazy about doing makeup, since I can't really see without them, but I can't put it on while doing homework. Oh well, orz.
